With her dying breath, Jo uses magical lore passed down from her grandmother to summon a wish-granter. Her wish? To save her friend’s life. Except wishes have costs, and for Jo, the price is the erasure of her entire mortal existence.
Now, as the most recent addition to the mysterious Society of Wishes, Jo must form a new “life” alongside the seven other members, one of which being her savior himself. Living as an occupant of the Society’s lavish mansion should be quite the perk, but while it is furnished with everything its inhabitants could possibly need, it lacks one thing—freedom.

Jumping in head-first, Jo uses her newfound magical abilities to protect him, only to realize that the ripples of her actions have far-reaching consequences. Title: Robin Hood's Dawn

Rating: 1/5

Description:
England, 1154-1194
A kingdom under assault.
A conspiracy born of anarchy.
A hero standing against tyranny.

Leading a band of men against the injustices of a malevolent sheriff and his henchmen, Robin begins to unravel a web of treachery threatening the English royal family.

As shadowy forces gather to destroy the future of a nation, Robin faces deceit, betrayal, and the ravages of war as he defends his king, his country, his people, and the woman he loves from a conspiracy so diabolical, so unexpected, that the course of history hangs in the balance.

From the mists of an ancient woodland, to lavish royal courts teeming with intrigue, to the exotic shores of the Holy Land - Robin Hood leads the fight in a battle between good and evil, justice and tyranny, the future and the past.

Part one of an exciting three-part retelling of the Robin Hood legend!

Although the books in the trilogy are not stand-alone, they do not end in cliffhangers.

My Lady Jane

Title: My Lady Jane
Authors: Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows

Rating: 5 /5

Description:
The comical, fantastical, romantical, (not) entirely true story of Lady Jane Grey. In My Lady Jane, coauthors Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows have created a one-of-a-kind fantasy in the tradition of The Princess Bride, featuring a reluctant king, an even more reluctant queen, a noble steed, and only a passing resemblance to actual history—because sometimes history needs a little help.

At sixteen, Lady Jane Grey is about to be married off to a stranger and caught up in a conspiracy to rob her cousin, King Edward, of his throne. But those trifling problems aren’t for Jane to worry about. Jane is about to become the Queen of England.

My Short and Sweet Review: Well that was a really cute retelling... love the magic mixed in with royality and history! If your open to changing history and sorts this story is for you.

My Sweet Audrina

Name: My Sweet Audrina
Author: V.C. Andrews
Rating: 4/5

Description:
V.C. Andrews, author of the phenomenally successful Dollanganger series, has created a fascinating new cast of characters in this haunting story of love and deceit, innocence and betrayal, and the suffocating power of parental love. Audrina Adare wanted so to be as good as her sister. She knew her father could not love her as he loved her sister. Her sister was so special, so perfect -- and dead.
Now she will come face to face with the dangerous, terrifying secret that everyone knows. Everyone except...  My Sweet Audrina

My Review:
The movie followed this story pretty close tho Audrina's younger sister never existed... I like the story in the book much better. The actual V.C. Andrews books written by herself are so much better than the ones the pen writer does now... this book was soooo good! I'll be picking up the second book Whitefern just to find out what happens next even tho its the pen writer!

Coraline

Title: Coraline
Author: Neil Gaiman
Rating: 5/5

Description:
The day after they moved in, Coraline went exploring....

In Coraline's family's new flat are twenty-one windows and fourteen doors. Thirteen of the doors open and close.

The fourteenth is locked, and on the other side is only a brick wall, until the day Coraline unlocks the door to find a passage to another flat in another house just like her own.

Only it's different.

At first, things seem marvelous in the other flat. The food is better. The toy box is filled with wind-up angels that flutter around the bedroom, books whose pictures writhe and crawl and shimmer, little dinosaur skulls that chatter their teeth. But there's another mother, and another father, and they want Coraline to stay with them and be their little girl. They want to change her and never let her go.

Other children are trapped there as well, lost souls behind the mirrors. Coraline is their only hope of rescue. She will have to fight with all her wits and all the tools she can find if she is to save the lost children, her ordinary life, and herself.

My Sweet and Short Review:
This is a reread, I picked this book up over 10 years ago and it freaked me out and it still does. The book is like nothing like the movie... creepy as heck. Neil Gaiman can really tell a story and I love this one and its perfect for Halloweenie time! And the characters are colorful and enjoyable. :) Pick it up and enjoy it!

Me Before You

Title: Me Before You
Author: Jojo Moyes

Rating: 4/5

Description:
They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose . . .

She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.

A Love Story for this generation, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?

My Sweet & Short Review:
A really good book, loved the characters maybe too much since the end I was crying so hard. Very heartbreaking and I don't think I can watch the movie that's for sure... read for a challenge but I think I'm glad I read it... I think... let me calm down a bit and wipe my face... *tears up*

My Sweet and Short Review:
Cute little story about a girl who is a witch and everywhere she goes disasters happen... but she also saves the day at the end! So the tv show on Netflix had to be based loosely on this book- the book is better but Netflix didn't ruin this classic at all... both are cute!

Cat

Title: Cat (Wildflowers #4)
Author: V.C. Andrews
Rating:  3/5

Description:
Cat has not yet shared in Dr. Marlowe's therapy group, but she has the darkest secret of all four girls and the most to lose by opening up.

My Sweet and Short Review:
This is Cathy story on why she is an Orphan with Parents and why she fits into the group of girls with similar problems as her own. Her mother shelters her from the world and make Cat even feel shameful about her body and the things she feels and her dad... well he is a big problem (which I won't tell ya in this) The girls act like what you would think girls would act talking to their psychologist and this is Cathy's day to tell the others why she is here. I gave it a 3 because I think I need a V.C. Andrews break- a lot of the ghostwriter's writing style and plots are the same now a days! So there ya go- first week is done YAY!

The Ruins of Gorlan

Title: The Ruins of Gorlan
Author: Jonathan Flanagan
Rating: 5/5

Description:
They have always scared him in the past — the Rangers, with their dark cloaks and shadowy ways. The villagers believe the Rangers practice magic that makes them invisible to ordinary people. And now 15-year-old Will, always small for his age, has been chosen as a Ranger's apprentice. What he doesn't yet realize is that the Rangers are the protectors of the kingdom. The exiled Morgarath, Lord of the Mountains of Rain and Night, is gathering his forces for an attack on the kingdom. This time, he will not be denied....

My Short and Sweet Review:
This is the journey of a small boy of the name Will and his training to be a ranger. Who are people that can hide in the shadows, climb, shoot arrows, track and etc. They aren't the strongest physical but perhaps the bravest out there. I love this Series and I think everyone should check it out!

Still Love this Book!

My Short Review: Alright, a lot of thoughts about this book, which the TV series did pretty much follow closely. This version of the book had a what if Hannah lived section... which in my opinion I didn't like. I know killing one self is horrible but what happened there is just as bad in the long run tho Clay and Hannah might even be able to hook up after... maybe. Tho if I was Hannah I probody would want a complete restart in life and sorts. The characters... Clay-Tony-Hannah I like the others can just shove it! And I guess that's it... well what I can sort out right now... deep book!

Goodnight, Wimpy Pikachu

Title: Goodnight, Wimpy Pikachu
Author: Brian Henry
reviewed for a friend!
Rating: 4/5

Description:
Wimpy Pikachu teaches us that wonderfully big things can come in small packages. A delightful tale of what you can do when you put your mind to it, protagonist Lyle has just arrived at the Illum Pokemon Center determined to embark on the journey of a lifetime. The ten year old boy is shy and just a little bit awkward, but deep down inside he knows he has what it takes.

And when Lyle encounters Wimpy Little Pikachu, sparks fly – literally. The fabled “Lazarus Log” is an unbreakable structure held up by stone pillars, and only those who are true of heart and destined for greatness can fracture it.

Will Lyle and little Pikachu break the mysterious Lazarus Log? Time will tell when you read Wimpy Little Pikachu.

My Sweet & Short Review:
This story is so good, and will get any child to read it. Great story- don't judge a pokemon by its size because its what is inside that counts which is a great thing to tell children! Such an easy read too! Gave it a 4 because it was so short but everything else was great!

Heaven

Title: Heaven
Author: V.C. Andrews

Rating: ðŸ’–💖💖💖💖/5

Description:
Of all the folks in the mountain shacks, the Casteels were the lowest -- the scum of the hills.
Heaven Leigh Casteel was the prettiest, smartest girl in the backwoods, despite her ragged clothes and dirty face...despite a father meaner than ten vipers...despite her weary stepmother, who worked her like a mule. For her brother Tom and the little ones, Heaven clung to her pride and her hopes. Someday they'd get away and show the world that they were decent, fine and talented -- worthy of love and respect.

Then Heaven's stepmother ran off, and her wicked, greedy father had a scheme -- a vicious scheme that threatened to destroy the precious dream of Heaven and the children forever!

My Short and Sweet Review:
What a really depressing story, but that's an V.C. Andrews story at its best. At least it ended with a bit of hope for this Hill girl that is smart as a whip for her upbringing, I wonder about all the other books in this series and her family! And damn it I would be in the same boat as Heaven and never forgive her Pa for what he did (or not do) during the first book... WTF!

Delia's Crossing

Title: Delia's Crossing
Author: V.C. Andrews
Rating: 3/5
Reviewed for Netgalley

Description:

A young immigrant girl escapes Mexico for America. One of the most popular storytellers of all time, V.C. Andrews (Flowers in the Attic, My Sweet Audrina) layers psychological suspense with sheer terror in this provocative first book of the classic Delia Series.

A young immigrant comes to America to escape un sino cruel, a cruel fate…

After her parents are killed in a truck accident, Delia Yebarra’s life is turned upside down. At fifteen, she leaves the rural Mexican village where she grew up and embarks on a new life in America. Coming to her wealthy aunt Isabella’s huge estate in Palm Springs, California, should be a dream come true for a simple country girl like Delia….

Only to become un preso del destino, a prisoner of destiny.

Instead, her aunt refuses to acknowledge Delia’s heritage, relegating her to servants’ quarters with a licentious language tutor intent on exploiting the pretty young foreigner. Her cousin Edward is kind, but cousin Sophia is cruel, manipulative, and resentful of Delia’s beauty. And just when Delia begins to embrace the life of a real American girl, a heartbreaking chain of events sends her spiraling back to a Mexico she hardly recognizes, making her wonder if she will ever find a place to call home.

My Short and Sweet Review:
This isn't the first time reading this book, but it was just as good. but of course I know that all her books are pretty ummmmm taboo... So I was surprised that her cousin didn't do anything with her. The only problem I had with this book was that some, very little Spanish wasn't translated... I mean most was but at parts I was like huh? So I give it 3 stars for my lack of Spanish!
