The Prey

Title: The Prey
Author: Andrew Fukuda
Rating:  5/5

Description:
For Gene and the remaining humans - or hepers - death is just a heartbeat away. On the run and hunted by society, they must find a way to survive in The Vast...and avoid the hungry predators tracking them in the dark. But they're not the only things following Gene. He's haunted by the girl he left behind and his burgeoning feelings for Sissy, the human girl at his side. When they discover a refuge of exiled humans living high in the mountains, Gene and his friends think they're finally safe. Led by a group of intensely secretive elders, the civilisation begins to raise more questions than answers. A strict code of behaviour is the rule, harsh punishments are meted out, young men are nowhere to be found - and Gene begins to wonder if the world they've entered is just as evil as the one they left behind. As life at the refuge grows more perilous, he and Sissy only grow closer. In an increasingly violent world, all they have is each other ...if they can only stay alive.

My Review:
This is the second book about a group of humans running from creatures, vampires. They are trying to survive the hunt of their kind when they find a 'mission' with other humans. Only thing bad is that Gene is suffering from a horrible cold and is out for days. This place is strange, so many pregant girls and no young males only elders. When Gene wakes up he finds that he is full of questions. But with news and other tragic things happen they end up exactly how they were at the end of book one... running. will they find a place called home?  I'm enjoying this series alot and looking forward to the next one. And I will be reading it when it comes out!

The Aftermath

Title: The Aftermath
Author: Sara Michelle
Rating: 3/5

Description:
From what we’ve calculated, it’s been seven days since The End. We don’t really have a more suitable name for it. There was absolutely no warning. It was three days after Christmas. We were alone and scared. Nobody expected the theories and stories to actually come true. After 2012 passed with no strange activity, the whole idea of the apocalypse seemed like rubbish. But we were proven terribly wrong. Nostradamus got it right after all.

My Review:
Interesting story, just a waste of paper with its size 18-20 font and only 75 pages... I think she should have put her three books together and maybe put a size 12 font on it... just me I guess.

First Frost

Title: First Frost
Author: Jennifer Estep
Series: Mythos Academy Book 0

Description:
I am Gwen Frost, and I have a Gypsy gift. It’s called psychometry – that's a fancy way of saying that I see images in my head and get flashes of other people’s memories off almost everything I touch, even guys.
My gift makes me kind of nosy. Okay, okay, maybe a lot nosy--to the point of obsession sometimes. I want to know everything about everyone around me. But even I don't want to know the secrets my friend Paige is hiding or the terrible loss that will send me to a new school – Mythos Academy, where the teachers aren't preparing us for the SATs, but to battle Reapers of Chaos. Now I have no friends and no idea how my gift fits in with all these warrior whiz kids. The only thing I do know is that my life is never, ever going to be the same. . .

My Review:
This is actual a pretty short story about Gwen before she enters Mythos Academy. The story about how she picked up a student's hair brush and saw a very bad thing happen and she told her mom. This is also set before her mom's death... well the book 's middle is that but what ever. I liked that even in this book and the introduction to Logan- he still flirts with her as she watches him. Love this Series! I will keep reading it too :P

Ripped

Title: Ripped
Author: Shelly Dickson Carr
Review for Netgalley

Description:
Katie Lennox wishes her parents were still alive. Having to leave Boston to live with Grandma Cleaves in London was hard, but she's making new friends, working on her British accent and even learning some Cockney rhyming slang. London's cool and actually feels like home in some ways, like she's been here before, belongs here. When a museum visit with her cousin and his cute friend turns funky, Katie finds herself in a long, uncomfortable dress, wearing a ridiculous hat, wondering what happened to her jeans and high-top sneakers? And where's her iPhone?... It's London, 1888. Smart and gutsy, Katie knows she's here to stop Jack the Ripper. The serial killer didn't just slash his victims' throats; he butchered the women. Katie has read about the Ripper, knows the names of his victims and where and when they were killed. She's watched her fair share of CSI. Can Katie save their lives?

My Review: I'm sorry to say but I couldn't get into this book at all. It's just wasn't my cup of tea. (looks around) Now I want a cup of tea. LOL.

Baby out of the Blue

Name: Baby out of the Blue
Author: Rebecca Winters
Pub Date: 2.1.2013
REVIEW FOR NETGALLEY

Book Description:
Found: One baby…Holidaying in Greece, Fran Myers is shocked to discover a tiny baby, swept away by a tornado. As she hugs the precious bundle a protective maternal instinct she thought she'd never experience kicks in.

One bachelor…

Relief is what the baby's uncle, CEO Nik Angelis, feels when he sees Fran with Demi, and he asks for her help to care for the little girl.

And a little ray of hope?

Dare Fran and Nik believe that their once-crushed dreams of parenthood—and love—might come true at last?

My Review:

This is a story with love at first glance with a bit of a twist. Demi is a miracle baby- she survived a tornado and landed practically at Fran's feet. This tornado not only brought Demi to Fran but also Nik- a greek hunk with secrets in his past just as Fran does. The only thing I thought was annoying was Fran's friend Kellie- she bugged me alot. Her hold on what Fran thought about a man she was falling in love with made me want to throw her out of a window. Or just flip a table. LOL. I loved these two together and the love for Demi was just perfect! Also I had a hard time staying with this novel til the end. Now off to the next book to review!
