The Color of Fear

Title: Once Upon a Zombie, Book One
Author: by Billy Phillips and Jenny Nissenson
Rating:
Netgalley Review
archive: oct 9, 2015

Description:
When Caitlin Fletcher’s mom disappeared (or left?) four years ago, Caitlin began suffering from breathless bouts of anxiety. Her new move to London, with her Dad and her brainiac sister, threatens to lead to more situations that will trigger panic. Now, she’s having anxiety over the possibility of having anxiety!
Caitlin’s life takes a turn for the bizarre when she’s tricked into climbing down a “rabbit hole” landing in a wondrous fairy tale universe —except it’s crawling with savage starving blood-eyed zombies. All the timeless fairy tale characters who once lived forever are now the living dead— think Snow White, Cinderella,
Rapunzel, and Sleeping Beauty. Even worse they’re famished. Definitely not the ideal situation for a vulnerable young girl prone to panic attacks.

My Review: Wow, I loved it. The idea was brilliant and even though I pretty much knew the end idea of it I just kept reading it. I couldn't put this novel down. Natalie was my favorite character this quirky and smart-ass younger sister was interesting. The Zombies were cool. Caitlin was so real, like who doesn't have at least one of her fears. The only thing that got me is that I'm a huge Alice fan and I expected her in more then just the end- since she is on this cover. But hey I bet she will be in book 2 now... LUVED it!

Diamond City Magic #1

Title: Trace of Magic
Author: Diana Pharaoh Francis
Rating: 5/5
Reviewed thru Netgalley for Publisher!

Thankz for much to Niki Flowers from Dell Bridge Books for sending me a free copy of this book so I can review both book #1 and 2!

Description: Even the most powerful tracers can't track you if the magical trace you leave behind is too old. But I can track almost anything, even dead trace. That makes me a unicorn, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and the Lock Ness Monster all rolled into one. In a word, I am unique. A very special snowflake. And if anyone ever finds out, I'll be dead or a slave to one of the Tyet criminal factions. Riley Hollis has quietly traced kidnapped children and quietly tipped the cops to their whereabouts one too many times. Now she's on the radar of Detective Clay Price, a cop in the pocket of a powerful magic Tyet faction. When he blackmails her into doing a dangerous trace for him, Riley will have to break every rule that keeps her safe. Or become a Tyet pawn in a deadly, magical war.

My Review: Just finished this wonderful book. With a perfect mix of adventure, action, romance, and magic. Which kept me on the edge of my seat. The story is beautifully written and the characters are real-like. Stubborn and like-able. I love the tension and uncertain love between Riley and Price. The constant need to protect each other was cute. Now we just need some questions answered that were left alone for us. But soon enough I'll be reading book 2 so that's all good! I enjoyed this book way too much and I give it a 5/5 stars!

My Review:
I loved the characters and the story, but no questions were answered. In fact we got more questions and I found out they aren't answered in the trilogy of books and she won't continue this series so I stopped reading it!

The 100/ Day 21

Title: The 100/ Day 21
Author: Kass Morgan
Rating: 1/5
Netgalley Reviews, both archived

Description for THE 100:
No one has set foot on Earth in centuries -- until now. Ever since a devastating nuclear war, humanity has lived on spaceships far above Earth's radioactive surface. Now, one hundred juvenile delinquents -- considered expendable by society -- are being sent on a dangerous mission: to recolonize the planet. It could be their second chance at life...or it could be a suicide mission. CLARKE was arrested for treason, though she's haunted by the memory of what she really did. WELLS, the chancellor's son, came to Earth for the girl he loves -- but will she ever forgive him? Reckless BELLAMY fought his way onto the transport pod to protect his sister, the other half of the only pair of siblings in the universe. And GLASS managed to escape back onto the ship, only to find that life there is just as dangerous as she feared it would be on Earth. Confronted with a savage land and haunted by secrets from their pasts, the hundred must fight to survive. They were never meant to be heroes, but they may be mankind's last hope.

Description for Day 21:
New in paperback-the sequel to New York Times bestseller The 100 . Now a TV show on The CW! It's been 21 days since the hundred landed on Earth. They're the only humans to set foot on the planet in centuries. Or so they thought. Facing an unknown enemy, Wells attempts to keep the group safe after a tragic attack. Clarke strikes out in search of other colonists, while Bellamy is determined to rescue his sister, no matter the cost. And back on the ship, Glass faces an unthinkable choice between the love of her life and life itself. In this pulse-pounding sequel, secrets are revealed, beliefs are challenged, and relationships are tested. The hundred will struggle to survive the only way they can...together. "Dark and riveting...A mash-up of The Lord of the Flies , Across the Universe , and The Hunger Games ."- Booklist on The 100

My Reviews: I couldn't finish the first book, it was way too different then the show and didn't like it at all!
