As Ember struggles to accept her future, she and her brother are hunted by the Order of St. George.  Soldier Garret Xavier Sebastien has a mission to seek and destroy all dragons, and Talon's newest recruits in particular. Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.

My Review:
This book reminded me of Starcross, which was a CW tv show. Which I liked a lot. And guess what I gobbled this book up- read it in only one day. I love the story and the characters which were so colorful. Cara is a strong character not letting people get to her until she loses her best friend. I love thi book and will be reading the short, Until Midnight (soon), and book 2 Invaded (once its out)

Atlantia (Sneek Peak)

Name: Atlantia
Author: Ally Condie
Review for NetGalley
Rating:  4/5

Description: Can you hear Atlantia breathing? For as long as she can remember, Rio has dreamt of the sand and sky Above— of life beyond her underwater city of Atlantia. But in a single moment, all her plans for the future are thwarted when her twin sister, Bay, makes an unexpected decision, stranding Rio Below. Alone, ripped away from the last person who knew Rio’s true self —and the powerful siren voice she has long hidden— she has nothing left to lose. Guided by a dangerous and unlikely mentor, Rio formulates a plan that leads to increasingly treacherous questions about her mother’s death, her own destiny, and the complex system constructed to govern the divide between land and sea. Her life and her city depend on Rio to listen to the voices of the past and to speak long-hidden truths.

My Review:
This preview of this book is filled by mystery and gave me more questions. I will be waiting for my library to get the full book and I can't wait. I love the story so far- a girl waiting to go live above to feel sand and breathe real air. But instead she is stuck in Atlantia where people live under the water in a sealed city. Also the poor girl is a siren and has power in her voice to make people do stuff. Very interesting and as I said can't wait to read the rest of this book.

Kill Me Softly

Title: Kill Me Softly
Author: Sarah Cross
Rating: 4/5

Description:
An edgy contemporary fairy-tale retelling perfect for fans of ABC's Once Upon a Time and NBC's Grimm . When Mirabelle runs away from her godmothers to Beau Rivage, the city where she was born, she hopes to discover answers about her parents' tragic death. Instead, she finds a group of unusual teenagers, each with a fairy-tale curse. In this strange seaside city, scenarios from fairy tales are played out over and over, and Mira has her own part in the drama: she's a "Somnolent," doomed to prick her finger and fall into an enchanted sleep like Sleeping Beauty. The problem is she's not interested in the charming (but slightly boring) "prince" who is fated to be her romantic counterpart. Mira is much more attracted to suave, handsome Felix, who bears a curse he can't, or won't, explain to her.

Dualed (NetGalley Sample)

Title: Dualed
Author: Elsie Chapman
Rating:
NetGalley Review

Description:
The Hunger Games meets Matched in this high-concept thriller where citizens must prove their worth by defeating the other version of themselves—their twin. Two of you exist. Only one will survive. West Grayer is ready. She's trained for years to confront her Alternate, a twin raised by another family. Survival means a good job, marriage—life. But then a tragic misstep leaves West questioning: Is she the best version of herself, the version worthy of a future? If she is to have any chance of winning, she must stop running not only from herself, but also from love . . . though both have the power to destroy her.

My Review:
This was a sample of chapter one, so its hard to make an opinion on something that is less than one chapter but so hard I like the book. So I ended up grabbing the whole book at the library so I can read the whole story and then head to the second book which I got to review for NetGalley also. :)

The Eye of Minds

Title: The Eye of Minds
Author: James Dashner
Rating: 5/5

Description:
Michael is a gamer. And like most gamers, he almost spends more time on the VirtNet than in the actual world. VirtNet offers total mind and body immersion, and it’s addictive. Thanks to technology, anyone with enough money can experience fantasy worlds, risk their life without the chance of death, or just hang around with Virt-friends. And the more hacking skills you have, the more fun. Why bother following the rules when most of them are dumb, anyway?

But some rules were made for a reason. Some technology is too dangerous to fool with. And recent reports claim that one gamer is going beyond what any gamer has done before: he’s holding players hostage inside the VirtNet. The effects are horrific—the hostages have all been declared brain-dead. Yet the gamer’s motives are a mystery.

The government knows that to catch a hacker, you need a hacker. And they’they've been watching Michael. They want him on their team. But the risk is enormous. If he accepts their challenge, Michael will need to go off the VirtNet grid. There are back alleys and corners in the system human eyes have never seen and predators he can’t even fathom—and there’s the possibility the line between game and reality will be blurred forever.

My Review:
Alright so at first this book was hard to get into but once into the story it moved pretty quick. What an interesting concept that I loved. The ending... nice ending. Now to wait for book 2- which is the worse part of reading- right guys :) So as you can tell I loved this book- I think this series will be better than the Maze Runner books- which says a lot since those were so good too!

Bella Italia

Title: Bella Italia
Author: Suzanne Vermeer
Rating: 3/5

Reviewed for Netgalley

Description: The story of a family camping trip turned deadly When Niels and his parents arrive at the beautiful forest campground in Lake Garda, Italy, they are looking forward to making friends, relaxing, and so much more. But they are not expecting that Niels will be witness to a killing. The ongoing investigation threatens the family’s sense of security. Will Niels have to face the murderer? And more importantly, could he still be in danger? In one of her most enthralling tales, Vermeer makes us all afraid of the dark woods.

My Review: My first mystery/thriller in a long time, I decided to request this book. The story sounded good and I was wondering about the cover. Its a nice dress but that's all its about. This story is about a young boy and other boys and their families . So it doesn't fit the story at all. But let's get on with the story. The characters are intense and real life. And at no point I didn't know who was the killer and I also felt bad for Niels but who wouldn't. At one point I thought it was the boy who killed the other boy and at one point thought the father did it. Suzanne is a very good author and I'll be reading her other books I requested :) Cruise & Bon Bini Beach

The Giver/ If I Stay

Name: The Giver
Author: Lois Lowry
Rating: 4/5

Description:
A major theme of this book is accepting differences and overcoming the obstacles created by these differences. This novel is set in a society that values conformity and makes every attempt to eliminate individuality. I included this novel in the text set, so that readers can begin comparing a society that struggles with accepting differences to one that strives to do away with them all together..

My Review: This was the first time reading this book, and I got to tell you its brilliant, I wanted... no craved more at the end.... what a cliffhanger there. I'm planning to read the rest of the series soon!

Name: If I Stay

In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen year- old Mia Hall has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. A sophisticated, layered, and heartachingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make—and the ultimate choice Mia commands. This book will bring tears to your eyes at one point and laughter at another.

My Review:
This book was amazing, so much storytelling as the author flings you into the past to talk about Mia's family, I found myself crying like a little baby thru the book. This story is about the strength of love from family and friends. I'll be reading the next book to see what happens to Mia, Adam and the rest of them!

Pawn

Title: Pawn
Author: Aimee Carter
Rating: 4/5

Description:
YOU CAN BE A VII. IF YOU GIVE UP EVERYTHING.   For Kitty Doe, it seems like an easy choice. She can either spend her life as a III in misery, looked down upon by the higher ranks and forced to leave the people she loves, or she can become a VII and join the most powerful family in the country.  If she says yes, Kitty will be Masked-surgically transformed into Lila Hart, the Prime Minister's niece, who died under mysterious circumstances. As a member of the Hart family, she will be famous. She will be adored. And for the first time, she will matter.  There's only one catch. She must also stop the rebellion that Lila secretly fostered, the same one that got her killed...and one Kitty believes in. Faced with threats, conspiracies and a life that's not her own, she must decide which path to choose-and learn how to become more than a pawn in a twisted game she's only beginning to understand.

Questions will be answered at the end of this month- beginning of next month!

Questions at the back of the book/instead of a review :P :

1. Do you believe that your life's work should be determined by a test you take when your 17?

2. What kind of job do you think would be assigned if you took that test now? When you were 25?

3. If your life was limited by restrictions- your job, the area where you live, having only one child and going to Elsewhere when you turn 60- do you believe you would be eager to achieve and succeed in life?

4. Kitty's dyslexia limits her future. Do you think children and teens today who have dyslexia are also under unfair burdens? Do you know people with dyslexia, and how do they cope? How do their families and teachers react?

5. What would you give up to get out of the life that was predicted for you?

6. Do you believe that life in a meritocracy is "fairer" than one where your family or a lucky break benefits you? What happens if someone plays with the system?

7. One of the reasons why this America became a meritocracy was overpopulation. Do you think that the strain of overpopulation might lead us in this direction unless changes are made? What can be done to create a better future?

8. Instead of an elected official, this America has a prime minister, and the role is inherited. How does the idea of one family in power match with the meritocracy in this country?

9. Kitty gives up her own name and not-so-bright future to take on another girl's name and family. Would you be willing to give up your own life to live someone else's?

10. Even in an ordered society, there are those who find a way to rebel. Do you think Tabs was right to encourage Kitty to follow in her footsteps?

11. Almost everyone- except for Benjy - is keeping secrets in this book. Are you good at keeping secrets? How would you live lying to everyone around you?

It's been months since Aria last saw Perry. Months since Perry was named Blood Lord of the Tides, and Aria was charged with an impossible mission. Now, finally, they are about to be reunited. But their reunion is far from perfect. The Tides don't take kindly to Aria, a former Dweller. And with the worsening Aether storms threatening the tribe's precarious existence, Aria begins to fear that leaving Perry behind might be the only way to save them both.

Threatened by false friends, hidden enemies, and powerful temptations, Aria and Perry wonder, can their love survive through the ever night?

In this second book in her spellbinding Under the Never Sky trilogy, Veronica Rossi combines fantasy and dystopian elements to create a captivating love story as perilous as it is unforgettable.

Under the Never Sky

Name: Under the Never Sky
Author: Veronica Rossi
Rating:  5/5

Description:
Since she's been on the outside, she'd survived an Aether storm, she'd had a knife held to her throat, and she'd seen men murdered.
THIS WAS WORSE

Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland--known as The Death Shop--are slim. If the cannibals don't get her, the violent energy stones will. She's been taught that the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He's wild--a savage--and her only hope of staying alive.

A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry views Aria as sheltered and fragile--everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he needs Aria's help too; she alone holds the key to his redemption. Opposites in nearly every way, Aria and Perry must accept each other to survive. Their unlikely alliance forges a bond that will determine the fate of all who live under the never sky.
In her enthralling debut, Veronica Rossi sends readers on an unforgettable adventure set in a world that's harsh but often beautiful.

My Review: I loved everything about this book, from the story to the characters. And I will be reading the rest of this series. Rossi created a new world where there are Dwellers (people who live in false worlds like vr and pods) and the outsiders which survive and work the land. This first book shows that survival is very hard on this world and you can die very easy.  Two thumbs up!

The Darkest Hour (movie)

Name: The Darkest Hour
Movie Review

Rating: 3/5

Description:

Travelers Natalie and Anne, stranded in Moscow by an unscheduled stopover en route to Nepal, make the best of it by seeking adventure in one of the nightlife capitals of the world. The two pairs of best friends meet amid the glitz and glamour of the Zvezda Nightclub, the hot spot for the international and the beautiful in Moscow, but the club is quickly transformed to a scene of terror when aliens invade and everything goes dark.

My Review:
I hate movies that really have no ending, there are a lot of them. I thought that the story had a good start... but lack of anything but we have to get home. That was all this movie was- not really an action movie but who knows what I watched. :) Certain moments kept me watching and then others I thought I was floating away. Oh well. We will see what my next movie review will be. So long...
