Guardian

------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Guardian (Halfling #2)
Author: Heather Burch
Pub date: 10.9.2012

Book Description:
Vigilance. The mission to safeguard Nikki Youngblood depends on the fragile alliance of two half-angel, half-human guardians, both struggling with intense feelings for the girl who has been assigned to their care. Mace, steadfast and deeply in love, wants to protect Nikki at all costs, while Raven's loyalty to Nikki finds him advocating for her independence and battling his own darker inclinations. At the same time, Nikki finds it harder and harder to choose between the two heavenly beings she may never have. Dangers intensify, and tensions between Mace and Raven flare as the purpose of their mission becomes clear. Can their defenses hold up to master manipulator Damon Vessler and the powerful secret he holds regarding Nikki's heritage? Can anyone protect Nikki from her true purpose and destiny?

My Review:  As Nikki fights herself on which halfling she truely loves. The safe Mace or the rebel Raven. She herself is battling an inner demon even when the group take her away from Vessler she still feels a pull towards him. And even after finding out what she is at the end there is still a pull. I found this book much better than the first one even tho Nikki needs to stop pulling at these boys hearts. I like the story plot and how Heather Burch writes this book and I will definatly want to read the next one. For all of you new to this series- start with Halfling. You will next hate it. :) Hmmm for rating I'll give this dark tale 4 stars. And hopefully in the next book someone will open her wings!

Rise of the Guardians: Hidden Truth & Other Stories

Book Name: Rise of the Guardians: Hidden Truth & Other Stories
Author: Ben Lichius
Pub Date: 11.13.2012
Rating: 4 Stars

Book Description:
North. Bunnymund. Sandman. Tooth Fairy. They are the make-believe characters that populate the imagination of children the world over. But young Jamie believes otherwise. They're all real, and he's been collecting the "evidence" to prove it! When Jamie's friend, Toby, comes over to spend the night, he finds Jamie's "Weird Stuff" scrapbook full of copious notes and samples about unexplained phenomenon, and the talk turns to Jamie's stories of near-miss encounters. It soon becomes evident, however, that Toby has a pretty amazing story of his own to tell. Based on the upcoming Dreamworks Animation blockbuster film "Rise of the Guardians", this prequel tells the story of Jamie's budding interest in the "Guardians of Childhood" ...and the encounters that shape his fascination!

My Review: This comic was a cute prequel for the movie in which I still need to see :( And also makes me love Jack Frost even more. The first story is about Jamie and getting proof about these characters of myth. And it showed that Jack Frost doesn't only play jokes on people but cares for mortals. I give this 4 stars, and hope you guys will check out this lovely little comic!

Grimms Fairy Tales : The Library

Name: Grimms Fairy Tales : The Library
Author: Joe Brusha
Rating: 3 Stars

DESCRIPTION: Grimm Fairy Tales presents an all new miniseries that explores an alternate reality of the Grimm Universe. When fourteen year old Sela Mathers discovers an ancient magic book in a condemned library her and her younger brother cast a spell that unlocks the amazing worlds and characters from the books and novels around them. Hercules, Robin Hood and Pecos Bill all come magically to life. But heroes aren't the only characters in stories. Villains too are affected by the magic spell and soon the children find themselves in a race against time to reverse the spell as evil characters from all of literature threaten to take over the world. Their only chance lies with the heroes they've brought to life. But even that may not be enough to stop the Frankenstein, Baba Yaga and the Wicked Witch of the West!

REVIEW: First I would have to say that Sela doesn't look to be 14 years old at all. Second the story plot was pretty good but rushed thru-out the whole thing. Maybe it should be made into a book and not be a comic. Not sure. Tho I loved the Heroes and everything- but they were gone too soon for me. Robin Hood was my fav. but hey. Whatever. So I give this comic 3 stars just because I could finish it and I love Myths.

Review:
This movie was different then my normal movies I watch, tho I watched it because I'm a huge fan of Jennifer. She is such a good actress :). A few scenes grossed me out but telling ya about them will ruin the movie- which is a pretty good movie. Just going to say the Ozarks area is a bit like the mafia or something like that. Alright so I give this movie 3 stars- not the worse but not her best! :) not her fault its the movie!

Warm Bodies

Title: Warm Bodies
Author: Isaac Marion

Book Description: R is a young man with an existential crisis - he is a zombie. He shuffles through an America destroyed by war, social collapse, and the mindless hunger of his undead comrades, but he craves something else something more than blood and brains. He can speak just a few grunted syllables, but his inner life is deep, full of wonder and longing. He has no memories, no identity and no pulse but he has dreams.
After experiencing a teenage boy's memories while consuming his brain, R makes an unexpected choice that begins a tense, awkward, and strangely sweet relationship with the victim's human girlfriend. Julie is a blast of color in the dreary and gray landscape that surrounds R. His decision to protect her has transform not only R but also his fellow Dead and perhaps their whole lifeless world.
Scary, funny, and surprisingly poignant, Warm Bodies is about being alive, being dead, and the blurry line in between.

My Review:  I totally adorned this book, at first before the movie came out I didn't want to read this. I was like another twilight ewwww what are they going to do give zombies glittery skin too. But after finishing this book in practically one night I can say that I enjoyed every word printed in this book. The relationship between R and Perry is strange. To where R starts to like like him a bit... like Perry was haunting R to protect Julie. And the relationship between the zombies and Julie was great. And I was glad that the romance wasn't to thick in this book- and the story was just perfect. I'm looking forward to more from Isaac Marion... hopefully soon!

FEBs BOTMs in MADIOS

Crimson Frost by Jennifer Estep

This is the 4th book of the Frost series. Its about a girl Gwen Frost and her battle with the evil god Loki. Gwen herself is a Gypsy and has the power of touch. With one touch from her she will know your deepest secrets or even kill a guy. So this book starts with a wonderful date with the hunky Logan. What she doesn't know is that this date will turn life threatening for her and I'm not talking about from the Reapers who serve the god Loki but by the 'good guys'. They take her away because they think she is the one that released Loki from his prison- that she is a reaper (which being Nike's Champion is plain stupid to think). The students at Mythos hate her with a passion, threaten her, hurt her with cans and sorted things. I won't say anymore about the plot but wow. I loved this book, well I knew I would love it since the last book made me cry at the death of the fenir wolf who protected Gwen. And I love the relationship between Vic (her sword) and Nyx (the fenir pup). And as these books finish I find myself falling in love more and more with Logan :) But who isn't. This book mixes myths almost perfectly and I can't wait for the next book... Midnight Frost.

I give this book 5 stars and a heart (LOVE IT)

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

My name is Juliette and my touch can kill. This book takes place after the world is failing us, the world to her is dead as she is forced to live in a prison where you hear people scream at night and the chilled air haunts you at night. Juliette is placed there by The Reestablishment after helping a little boy, she didn't know she was going to kill in the process. Her parents let them take her. Was she a monster... She wondered if she was sane or even alive as she was left alone in the cell. But then they threw in a roommate. A boy, Adam. This boy Juliette knows from her past, and even with her scared to touch him- she falls in love with him even after everything turns chaos. They take her out of her cell and Warren tries to turn her into a weapon. She can not turn herself into the monster she fears she can be... Alright thats enough spoiling of the book... read it- it's really good I swear!

I give this book 5 stars
