Paranormal Romance Fiction

Embyr tends her tavern while keeping her dangerous parentage a secret, until she's attacked by a hellhound and saved by one of the most feared men in history.

For the last eight hundred years, Ryder McLennon, the infamous leader of Death's Horsemen, has used his army to hunt the vampire who killed his wife. He's earned a reputation as a murderous madman. But in Embyr, he discovers something that could turn the tide of battle in his favor. Her control over fire can reduce an enemy to ash and her flippant disregard of him heats his blood in ways no one else ever has. She's beautiful, powerful and completely different from her violence-loving brethren.

Embyr finds herself thrust into a war she wants no part of, targeted by a vicious vampire because of her cooperation with Ryder. As she learns to wield her demonic powers without letting the madness of her race overcome her, she also has to fight her attraction to a killer bent on her seduction.

Cinder

Cinder
Marie Sexton
4/5
99 pages

Description:
A CinderFella Story

Eldon Cinder would give anything to see Prince Xavier one last time, but only women are invited to the royal ball. When the local witch offers to make Eldon female for just one night, he agrees.

One spell.

One night.

One dance.

What could possibly go wrong?

My Review:
This was a cute spin on the fairytale of Cinderella it's M&M romance that didn't get erotic-like. I loved Cinder and the princes relationship where they just wanted to be themselves and not impress. Plus Milton the dog was so cute!

Romancing the Inventor

Title: Romancing the Inventor
Author: Gail Carriger
Rating:  5/5

Description:
Imogene Hale is a lowly parlourmaid with a soul-crushing secret. Seeking solace, she takes work at a local hive, only to fall desperately in love with the amazing lady inventor the vampires are keeping in the potting shed. With culture, class, and the lady herself set against the match, can Imogene and her duster overcome all odds and win Genevieve's heart, or will the vampires suck both of them dry?

This is a stand-alone LBGTQ sweet romance set in Gail Carriger's Parasolverse, full of class prejudice, elusive equations, and paranormal creatures taking tea.

Delicate Sensibilities? This story contains women pleasing women and ladies who know what they want and pursue it, sometimes in exquisite detail.

Supernatural Society novellas can be read in any order.

My S&S Review: A adorable F/F romp in the park. I love these characters... just love them... and this world is amazing... I need to read more of Gail Carriger's books! Like now!

My Lady Jane

Title: My Lady Jane
Authors: Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows

Rating: 5 /5

Description:
The comical, fantastical, romantical, (not) entirely true story of Lady Jane Grey. In My Lady Jane, coauthors Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows have created a one-of-a-kind fantasy in the tradition of The Princess Bride, featuring a reluctant king, an even more reluctant queen, a noble steed, and only a passing resemblance to actual history—because sometimes history needs a little help.

At sixteen, Lady Jane Grey is about to be married off to a stranger and caught up in a conspiracy to rob her cousin, King Edward, of his throne. But those trifling problems aren’t for Jane to worry about. Jane is about to become the Queen of England.

My Short and Sweet Review: Well that was a really cute retelling... love the magic mixed in with royality and history! If your open to changing history and sorts this story is for you.

My Sweet Audrina

Name: My Sweet Audrina
Author: V.C. Andrews
Rating: 4/5

Description:
V.C. Andrews, author of the phenomenally successful Dollanganger series, has created a fascinating new cast of characters in this haunting story of love and deceit, innocence and betrayal, and the suffocating power of parental love. Audrina Adare wanted so to be as good as her sister. She knew her father could not love her as he loved her sister. Her sister was so special, so perfect -- and dead.
Now she will come face to face with the dangerous, terrifying secret that everyone knows. Everyone except...  My Sweet Audrina

My Review:
The movie followed this story pretty close tho Audrina's younger sister never existed... I like the story in the book much better. The actual V.C. Andrews books written by herself are so much better than the ones the pen writer does now... this book was soooo good! I'll be picking up the second book Whitefern just to find out what happens next even tho its the pen writer!

My Sweet and Short Review:

Coraline

Title: Coraline
Author: Neil Gaiman
Rating: 5/5

Description:
The day after they moved in, Coraline went exploring....

In Coraline's family's new flat are twenty-one windows and fourteen doors. Thirteen of the doors open and close.

The fourteenth is locked, and on the other side is only a brick wall, until the day Coraline unlocks the door to find a passage to another flat in another house just like her own.

Only it's different.

At first, things seem marvelous in the other flat. The food is better. The toy box is filled with wind-up angels that flutter around the bedroom, books whose pictures writhe and crawl and shimmer, little dinosaur skulls that chatter their teeth. But there's another mother, and another father, and they want Coraline to stay with them and be their little girl. They want to change her and never let her go.

Other children are trapped there as well, lost souls behind the mirrors. Coraline is their only hope of rescue. She will have to fight with all her wits and all the tools she can find if she is to save the lost children, her ordinary life, and herself.

My Sweet and Short Review:
This is a reread, I picked this book up over 10 years ago and it freaked me out and it still does. The book is like nothing like the movie... creepy as heck. Neil Gaiman can really tell a story and I love this one and its perfect for Halloweenie time! And the characters are colorful and enjoyable. :) Pick it up and enjoy it!
