Marley and Me

Title: Marley and Me
Author: Josh Grogan
Rating: 5/5 HeartBreak!

Description:
John and Jenny were just beginning their life together. They were young and in love, with a perfect little house and not a care in the world. Then they brought home Marley, a wiggly yellow furball of a puppy. Life would never be the same.

Marley quickly grew into a barreling, ninety-seven-pound streamroller of a Labrador retriever, a dog like no other. He crashed through screen doors, gouged through drywall, flung drool on guests, stole women's undergarments, and ate nearly everything he could get his mouth around, including couches and fine jewelry. Obedience school did no good—Marley was expelled. Neither did the tranquilizers the veterinarian prescribed for him with the admonishment, "Don't hesitate to use these."

And yet Marley's heart was pure. Just as he joyfully refused any limits on his behavior, his love and loyalty were boundless, too. Marley shared the couple's joy at their first pregnancy, and their heartbreak over the miscarriage. He was there when babies finally arrived and when the screams of a seventeen-year-old stabbing victim pierced the night. Marley shut down a public beach and managed to land a role in a feature-length movie, always winning hearts as he made a mess of things. Through it all, he remained steadfast, a model of devotion, even when his family was at its wit's end. Unconditional love, they would learn, comes in many forms.

My Review: OMG this book had me balling my eyes out at the last 3 chapters, I should have not fallen in love with this dorky dog. My weakness! I don't knw what to say but everyone that hasn't read this one yet... go read it please!

So for this readathon I didn't do that great but I did read a few Mangas that could count. I also tried to read the Martian but that didn't go far!

Summerweenathon Wrap Up

Summerweenathon Wrap Up

Hey ya guys, this is my wrap up of a readathon I took part in on 17th to 23rd which were hosted by a few nice peeps! The group read and movie was Coraline and since I've read and watched it that was one less thing but I did read the challenges :)

1. A book that gives you the chills... that would have to be Edgar Allen Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart and the Raven... I got the audio for these and they were good.

2. Next is a paranormal book vs. a book with someone having a pet... I combined these together and listened to Edgar Allen Poe again but this time it was The Black Cat... now warning about this book would have helped because I love animals and there is animal abuse and murder in this story... so instead of being scared... I was triggered and crying by the end of this story!

3. Read a Thriller... which I picked Stalking Jack the Ripper!
This is the only book/story I didn't get close to finishing... I got the flu and made it hard to focus and finish this! :O

Bring Me Their Hearts
by
Sara Wolf
Genre: YA Fantasy
Release Date: June 5th 2018
Entangled Teen

Summary:

Zera is a Heartless—the immortal, unaging soldier of a witch. Bound to the witch Nightsinger ever since she saved her from the bandits who murdered her family, Zera longs for freedom from the woods they hide in. With her heart in a jar under Nightsinger’s control, she serves the witch unquestioningly.

Until Nightsinger asks Zera for a prince’s heart in exchange for her own, with one addendum: if she’s discovered infiltrating the court, Nightsinger will destroy Zera’s heart rather than see her tortured by the witch-hating nobles.

Crown Prince Lucien d’Malvane hates the royal court as much as it loves him—every tutor too afraid to correct him and every girl jockeying for a place at his darkly handsome side. No one can challenge him—until the arrival of Lady Zera. She’s inelegant, smart-mouthed, carefree, and out for his blood. The prince’s honor has him quickly aiming for her throat.

So begins a game of cat and mouse between a girl with nothing to lose and a boy who has it all.

Winner takes the loser’s heart.

Literally.
