United

Title: United
Author: Melissa Landers
Rating: 4/5

Description: After thwarting a deadly coup and saving the alliance between their worlds, Cara and Aelyx have finally earned a break. Their tiny island colony is everything they dreamed it would be―days spent gathering shells on the beach and nights in each other’s arms.

But the vacation is short-lived.

The treaty between Earth and L’eihr has awakened an ancient force that threatens to destroy them all. The Aribol, mysterious guardians charged with maintaining interstellar peace, deem the alliance a threat to the galaxy. They order a separation of the races, decreeing humans and L’eihrs must return to their own planets within the month or face extinction. In fact, they already have agents in place on Earth, ready to begin.

With the clock ticking, Aelyx and Cara assemble a team of colonists and race back to Earth, where they unite with old friends to solve the mystery of who the Aribol are, what they want, and the real reason the alliance has provoked them. As tensions build to a full-scale war, Aelyx and Cara must fight harder than ever―not just for their future, but for the survival of both their worlds.

My Short Review: not as good as the ones before this but still a good read!

Author: Amanda Hocking
Rating: 5/5
Reviewed for NG
Book comes out 1/3/17
Description:
Welcome to Gideon Davorin’s Traveling Sideshow, where necromancy, magical visions, and pyrokinesis are more than just part of the act…

Mara has always longed for a normal life in a normal town where no one has the ability to levitate or predict the future. Instead, she roams from place to place, cleaning the tiger cage while her friends perform supernatural feats every night.

When the struggling sideshow is miraculously offered the money they need if they set up camp in Caudry, Louisiana, Mara meets local-boy Gabe…and a normal life has never been more appealing.
But before long, performers begin disappearing and bodes are found mauled by an invisible beast. Mara realizes that there’s a sinister presence lurking in the town with its sights set on getting rid of the sideshow freeks. In order to unravel the truth before the attacker kills everyone Mara holds dear, she has seven days to take control of a power she didn’t know she was capable of—one that could change her future forever.

My Review:
Wow just wow, what a good book this was... just like the other series I read of hers its brilliant. The story is unique but I have a sense of Grimm in it also and the characters were a hoot. Loved this book! And I think everyone should read it when it comes out or try to request it from Netgalley!

Diary of a Minecraft Alex

Title: Diary of a Minecraft Alex
Author: Mc Steve
Rating: 5/5

Description:
Alex is a Self-Sufficient Loner Who Doesn't Need Anyone. But Soon She Learns The True Value of Friendship by Working Together!

Alex is a loner in the ice plains. She prefers pigs to people. She's a vegetarian. She starts in a small hut but moves into an igloo that she then renovates. She's good at fighting mobs in the overworld, but not the Nether.

She meets Steve, who annoys her. He shares the legend that the villagers have: Herobrine put a curse on the area so that if a zombie ever kills a villager, zombie pigmen begin appearing and attacking in the overworld.

Alex returns home with the thought that this isn't her problem only to find that zombie pigmen invaded her igloo. She rushes to find Steve, to figure out how to stop the curse.

My Review:
A story about friendship, well the start of a friendship at least. Alex is a veggie eater and won't eat meat or kill helpless animals so she writes on assorted papers. She finds an igloo where what she finds inside changes her life forever. She starts out with no friends but she meets Steve and things change. I loved this story even more than Diary of a Wimpy Zombie! Nice story!

Diary of a Wimpy Zombie

Title: Diary of a Wimpy Zombie
Author: MC Steve
Rating: 4/5

Description:
It's the First Day of School and I Know It's Going to Be Epic!!

My name is Z, Z the zombie. I’m starting middle school this September, and I have no idea what the next few weeks will have in store for me. I have a funny feeling that my older brother, R, will try to cause some problems for me, but I’m going to try not to let it get me down. After all, I have my skeleton friend, Bonnie, and my zombie pigman friend, Trevor, to help me out of any hard spots that I might land myself into.

Who knows? I might even make another friend.

This school year will be my new start. I’ll try to make new friends, join a club, and annoy my older brother a little bit, too. I hope this school year is ready for me because I’m ready for it!

My Review: This small book had a lot of charm to it, that made me smile. What if Zombies in Minecraft weren't bad and what if they could friend humans. Z and Steve will make the best of friends in the future I know it and that prank made in laugh. This book is a lot like Diary of a wimpy kid but I totally love it anyways since I'm a fan of Minecraft and played it for years and watched a bunch of youtubers play it over the years. So yup... good book, good job! Now off to read the story about Alex next! See ya!

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Title: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
Author: Ransom Riggs
Rating: /5

Description: A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow-impossible though it seems-they may still be alive. A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows.

My Review: Soon to Come

Rebel Magisters

Title: Rebel Magisters
Author: Shanna Swendson
Rating: 5/5

Description: Tea, Love ... and Revolution!

The Rebel Mechanics aren’t the only group plotting revolution against the magical British Empire. There are rebel magisters, as well, and Verity Newton and her magister employer, Lord Henry, know that the only way for the revolution to succeed is if both groups work together. A diplomatic mission seems like the perfect opportunity for them to meet with rebels in other colonies and gather support—right under the governor’s nose.

From drawing rooms, ballrooms, and the harbor in Boston to the streets of Charleston, Verity and Henry find themselves up against stubborn factions of both magisters and Mechanics and increasingly aware that they can only really count on each other as their relationship deepens. It may take a real crisis to unite the rebel movements and rally them to the cause—but could such a crisis also tear them apart?

My Review: This book was just as good and maybe a bit better than book 1, love the story plot and characters too much... read most of this book in less then 4 hrs early this morning! She better keep going so we find out about the relationship between henry and verity!

The Healer

Title: The Healer
Author: Virginia Boecker
Rating: 4/5

Description: John Raleigh, one of the youngest and most talented magical healers in all of Anglia, can relieve any ailment except, perhaps, his own broken heart. Since the deaths of his mother and sister who burned at the stake for witchcraft, John has spent his nights lost in nightmares and his days drowning in melancholy. That is until he's summoned to the home of Nicholas Perevil, the most powerful wizard in the kingdom, who suffers from a mysterious illness that has confounded every other healer.

John immediately knows that this is no normal sickness. Nicholas, it seems, is falling apart because of a dangerous curse, and their only clue for a cure is a single name—Elizabeth Grey.

Who is this girl and how has she become mixed up with such dark magic? John must put these questions aside when Elizabeth is brought to him from the palace's prison on the brink of death. It will take everything he has to save her, and to save Nicholas, but perhaps he'll manage to save his heart along the way.

My Review: This is written in the eyes of John and a bit of back story alittle before The Witch Hunter and a bit during it. Its interesting to see the story from another's eye besides Elizabeth who was busy fighting and being ill and almost dying. So I picked this up as i wait to get book 2 of this series which will be soon I hope!

Just Juliet

Title: Just Juliet
Author: Charlotte Reagan
Rating:

Reviewing for Publisher

Description:
Ever wondered what lesbian love between two teenage girls feel like? Read the story of Lena and Juliet.

Lena Newman is 17 years old and pretty satisfied with her life. Until her world is turned upside down. Juliet James is the new girl at school and very quickly manages to send Lena’s heart wild. Juliet introduced Lena to a part of herself she didn’t know was there, taking her on an emotional journey where loyalty, friendships and family relationships are tested. Juliet represents the road less traveled. Will Lena take it?

My Review: What a bittersweet romance this book was. I don't really read books with gay romances in them often but the writing the author did in this was amazing. The characters are all pretty much lovable and real- with their flaws. This is a girl has boyfriend but meets girl who confuses girl about her sexuality a bit and she comes out eventually. At one point I was like no they must stay together and almost cried... the end was great- This book had my attention from the beginning... I luved it! Great job Charlotte! Wonderful!
